The Fairholme College Scholarship program aims to encourage, recognise and support students in their pursuit of their excellence.
Scholarships are awarded to students in areas of excellence in conjunction with demonstrating exceptional character, including qualities such as integrity, leadership, initiative, care and compassion for others.

2027 Scholarship Applications
Are Now Open
We welcome new and existing students entering Year 7 or Year 10 in 2027 to apply for a Fairholme College Scholarship.
Applications close Midnight AEDST (11pm QLD AEST) Sunday 8 February 2026. All applicants for 2027 Scholarships are required to sit the ACER exam to be held on Saturday 28 February 2026.
Please ensure to complete both the ACER Registration and the Scholarship Application.
Students may apply for multiple Scholarship categories, but only one scholarship will be awarded per student. Please note: If you are applying for more than one Scholarship category, you only need to complete and submit a single application form.

Academic Scholarships
Merit based | Entering Year 7 or Year 10 in 2027
All Academic Scholarship applicants are required to:
- submit the Scholarship Application Form
- register for the ACER Scholarship Exam to be held on Saturday 28 February, 2026
- provide evidence of quantifiably high levels of academic achievement throughout their schooling.
Board of Directors' Bursaries
Merit based | Entering Year 7 or Year 10 in 2027
In the awarding of such bursaries, consideration will be given to a student’s engagement in school life through academics, The Arts, leadership, service, sport, or a combination of these.
All Board of Directors' Bursary applicants are required to:
- submit the Scholarship Application Form
- register for the ACER Scholarship Exam to be held on Saturday 28 February, 2026
Emerging Leader Scholarship
Merit based | Entering Year 7 or Year 10 in 2027
The Emerging Leader Scholarship is an investment in the next generation of strong, compassionate women who will shape their communities. At its heart, this scholarship fosters a culture of service, connection, and leadership, empowering young women to step forward with confidence and purpose.
By recognising students who actively lead, serve, and build meaningful relationships, the scholarship supports the development of values driven leaders who embody empathy, resilience, excellence and a commitment to community. In an all girls school environment, it reinforces the belief that leadership is not just about position, but about impact, and that every girl has the potential to lead with heart.
All Emerging Leader Scholarship applicants are required to:
- submit the Scholarship Application Form
- register for the ACER Scholarship Exam to be held on Saturday 28 February, 2026
- exhibit proactive leadership within the school or broader community
- demonstrate a sustained commitment to service and meaningful community involvement
- participate in an interview to showcase interpersonal strengths and relational capabilities. Interviews to be held in the week of 23 February, 2026.
The John Sessarago Sporting Scholarships
Merit based | Entering Year 7 or Year 10 in 2027
Candidates must be competing at (or progressing towards) State, National or the highest possible level in at least one sporting activity (team or individual) that is offered in the Fairholme College sports program.
Excellence in Arts and Culture Scholarships
Merit based | Entering Year 7 or Year 10 in 2027
A variety of Excellence in Arts and Culture Scholarships are awarded in the following categories:
- Dance
- Music
- Drama
- Visual Arts
- Debating
- Chess
- Public Speaking.
Glasgow McDowall Rural Bursary
Merit based | Entering Year 10 in 2028
The Glasgow McDowall Bursary will be offered in 2027 to a student commencing boarding as a Year 10 student in 2028. Registration will open for this bursary in late October 2026.

First Nations Bursaries
Merit based | Year 7 to Year 12
First Nations Scholarships are awarded to girls of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander heritage from Year 7 to 12 at Fairholme College. They provide exceptional educational opportunities for First Nations girls who have the potential to lead within their community.
