Student Athlete Empowerment Project

At Fairholme, we are delighted to provide our students with access to world-class education and research in partnership with the University of Southern Queensland — helping our young athletes take bold steps towards their sporting goals, and perhaps even towards the Olympic stage in 2032.

Through UniSQ’s 2032 Brisbane Olympics Student-Athlete Empowerment Project, students are equipped with tailored strategies and practical tools to support their health, confidence, and performance in every arena.

As part of this project, our High Performance Sport athletes have the opportunity to take part in the specialised ‘Girls 2 Win’ and ‘Mind 2 Win’ programs.

  • Girls 2 Win

Led by UniSQ experts in female health and performance, 'Girls 2 Win' focuses on the unique aspects of female physiology and how these can influence wellbeing and sporting success.

The program provides an overview of the menstrual cycle, hormonal contraception, and the relationship between female physiology and athletic performance.

'Girls 2 Win' empowers student-athletes to make informed decisions about their health, ensuring they are equipped to optimise their wellbeing and performance on and off the field.

  • Mind 2 Win

Empowering young athletes with a deeper understanding of the mind’s role in health, well-being, and performance.

Athletes explore key psychological skills, including focus, resilience, self-awareness, and mindset strategies to optimise their mental approach to training and competition.

Through interactive workshops, practical exercises, and real-world applications, students will learn how to enhance concentration, manage stress, and build confidence, ultimately strengthening their ability to perform under pressure.
