Greta Junior Library

The theme of Greta Junior is to create a warm and inviting learning hub where girls can build, develop and be supported in their love of reading.

We believe that promoting a love of reading will give every girl the tools and life skills to become inquisitive, independent and successful learners and thinkers in the future.

The custom-designed space incorporates real and virtual environments, including:

  • Storytelling area
  • Research area
  • E-learning zone with computers for students to access a range of digital resources and learning programs
  • Spaces for individuals and small groups to enjoy reading, playing and learning.

Greta Junior is a place for the girls to build upon their knowledge and skills in areas ranging from technology and robotics to higher-order thinking projects.

An extensive and high-quality collection of literature for parents is also available to borrow from Greta Junior. Themes range from raising teenagers to dealing with anxiety in children. Also, a collection of picture books are available; these picture books are often written by child psychologists, and provide a gentle approach to discussing complex subjects with little ones.

A love of literature and a focus on reading to learn is encouraged and explored in weekly library lessons.

Greta Junior Opening Hours

Student Wellbeing

A caring, compassionate and supportive attitude, Christian worship, respect for self and others and a dedication to developing honesty and integrity are an integral part of everyday life at Fairholme Junior.

Our pastoral care program focuses upon developing skills to assist the girls with the personal skills they need to negotiate the increasingly complex world in which they live.

The Year 6 girls participate in leadership roles in their final year in the Junior School. To assist in the smooth transition to Middle School, the girls are presented with opportunities to participate in information sessions and meet with students and key personnel from the Middle and Senior School.
