POSITION: Head of Sport.
RESPONSIBLE TO: Principal.
REPORTS TO: Principal.
KEY FUNCTIONAL RELATIONSHIPS: Head of HPE, Coordinators of Sports and High-Performance Coaching, HPE Teachers, Sports Coaches, Learn to Swim Coaches, Administrative Assistant, Parents, Students.

We are seeing an outstanding and visionary Head of Sport to lead a dynamic, inclusive and high-achieving co-curricular program for students from Prep – Year 12. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of girls’ sport in a school that values excellence, wellbeing and student voice.
Position Description
As the Head of Sport, you will:
- Lead the strategic direction and day-to-day management of the College’s sports programs.
- Inspire a culture of participation, performance and personal growth, where every student feels seen, supported and empowered.
- Work closely with academic and wellbeing leaders to ensure every Sports experience complements the College’s educational philosophy and student wellbeing framework.
- Lead a diverse team of coaches, program coordinators, and volunteers (including student coaches) to deliver a rich array of opportunities – from competitive sport to performance-based activities.
- Model leadership that is relational, collaborative and aspirational.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver a vibrant, future-focused sport program that promotes student engagement, leadership and wellbeing.
- Recruit, manage and support high-quality coaches, coordinators and volunteers, ensuring alignment with child safeguarding and professional standards.
- Oversee scheduling, compliance, budgeting and resource management for all Sport offerings.
- Build strong, respectful relationships with students, families, staff and community partners.
- Plan and oversee major events including competitions, carnivals, showcases and celebrations.
- Promote the achievements of students and programs through a variety of communication channels.
Selection Criteria
Applicants must address the following in their application:
- Demonstrated leadership experience in sports programming, preferably within a school setting.
- A track record of fostering inclusive, high-performing teams and student programs.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect and collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Deep understanding of the value of learning in Sport in the development of confident and capable young women.
- Knowledge of relevant compliance frameworks including child safeguarding and WHS standards.
- A teaching qualification and current registration with the Queensland College of Teachers.
- A genuine commitment to the Christian ethos of the College and a willingness to contribute to its spiritual and community life.

Communication Skills
- The ability to work collaboratively with work colleagues, and to communicate clearly and enthusiastically with staff, students, and families.

Workplace Health and Safety
As a member of the College, the successful applicant is required to follow all workplace, health and safety requirements that include but are not limited to:
- Adherence to and working knowledge of policy requirements;
- Cooperation with audit, professional learning and training/drill processes;
- Meticulous attention to reporting responsibilities and record-keeping obligations in relation to all workplace, health and safety matters.

Selection Process
The interview panel will review applications and determine a short list. Non successful candidates will be advised via email once the interview process has been completed and the successful candidate appointed. Following email receipt, there will be opportunity for further face-to-face feedback.
