During her school years, Louise studied piano with a Toowoomba teacher of great renown, Mary Childe. Louise studied psychology and music at USQ for a Bachelor of Arts, and was awarded the A. Mus. A. (a performance diploma) in piano from the AMEB during that time.

After obtaining first class Honours at USQ, she then completed the Master of Arts at the University of Queensland. In the UK, Louise taught piano both individually and in groups at a music school, and also developed and ran music groups for rehabilitation patients in two hospitals where she worked as a psychologist assistant. She also had their first two children while in England (Timothy and Jonathan). The family arrived in Toowoomba towards the end of 1997, and have enjoyed being in this city ever since.

Louise has taught both piano and bassoon privately in her home since October 1997. In the year 2000 she was awarded the A. T. Mus. She enjoyed playing the bassoon for the Choral Society's “Westside Story” (in 1999), “Brigadoon” (in 2001) and “Fiddler on the Roof” (2003). In 2001-2004, she was employed by the Music Department at USQ for accompanying, lecturing and marking.

Louise commenced teaching piano at Fairholme College in July 2003, and currently has a large teaching practice both at home and at school with students ranging in age from Prep to Year 12 and ranging in ability level from beginners to A. Mus. A. level. Louise has also been on the piano sub-committee for the Toowoomba Eisteddfod since 2010.

She has also been heavily involved in her church over many years where she performs as a musician, teaches Sunday School, is a youth leader and also organises an annual music camp for 50-60 children each Easter. Most recently, Louise has completed a Diploma of Counselling.
