Meet our New Kindy Teacher
Courtney Webster has spent her entire career working with Kindy kids, is passionate about reading to children and has a love for adventure and the outdoors. This week she’s taken on a new adventure, as the new teacher of the Kindy D classroom.
It’s week one in what was Kindy D – now known as Kindy W.
Courtney Webster is past the first day butterflies.
‘The first day was a bit daunting but now I’m feeling a bit more comfortable.’
Originally from Brisbane, this is Courtney’s 7th year of teaching Kindergarten, which has taken her to Kindy classrooms west of Dalby and into the South Burnett, before settling in Toowoomba.
‘It’s my passion. I love the Kindy years, but Fairholme offers me something very special. The consistency here is lovely - having the same group and regular days helps to build better friendships, and it certainly allows me to connect with the students on a greater level.’
It will be the first time Courtney has taught in a Kindergarten within a whole school.
‘Working with Prep teachers is really exciting. It means we can plan together how the program works to provide the best possible outcome for the children.’
Courtney says she loves to sit down and read to the children, and is looking forward to spending time in the Kindy Vegetable Patch.
‘I really do enjoy gardening and I think it’s wonderful to show the children where food comes from. The Fairholme Kindy students are very lucky to also have music lessons as part of their specialist classes. Between reading, gardening and singing I think I will be very happy!’
Come and meet Courtney at our next Kindy Kid for a Morning.
