Junior Curriculum & Learning
The theme of Greta Junior is to create a warm and inviting learning hub where girls can build, develop and be supported in their love of reading.
We believe that promoting a love of reading will give every girl the tools and life skills to become inquisitive, independent and successful learners and thinkers in the future.
The custom-designed space incorporates real and virtual environments, including:
- Storytelling area,
- Research area,
- e-learning zone with computers for students to access a range of digital resources and learning programs, and…
- Spaces for individuals and small groups to enjoy reading, playing and learning.
Greta Junior is a place for the girls to build upon their knowledge and skills in areas ranging from technology and robotics to higher-order thinking projects.
An extensive and high-quality collection of literature for parents is also available to borrow from Greta Junior. Themes range from raising teenagers to dealing with anxiety in children. Also, a collection of picture books are available; these picture books are often written by child psychologists, and provide a gentle approach to discussing complex subjects with little ones.
A love of literature and a focus on reading to learn is encouraged and explored in weekly library lessons.
Monday to Friday, 8am to 3.25pm (closed for morning tea 10.30am to 11am, and first half of lunch 12.30pm to 12.55pm).
