Boarder Angels

A 17 year old Boarder from Texas is hoping she can help other farms struggling through the drought. Asha Higgins lives on a farm in Texas and knows all too well the devastation occurring around the country, following years of drought. So she's putting the call out to all her fellow Boarders to take photos of their own farm, paint a picture or draw something that depicts what they're going through. 'Gemma is doing remarkably well up in WA. There is certainly a place for women on Stations, despite it traditionally being a male dominated industry. These girls are resilient, ethical and keen to work hard and learn.' Gemma Somerset graduated from Fairholme last year and is currently working at Yougawalla Pastoral Company in the Kimberley. Painting A New Story

Year 12 Student Meg Hansen has discovered how to share her family stories through her own unique artwork. Now she's ready to move on to a new chapter, after the Toowoomba Regional Art Gallery bought her work at Facets of Fairholme Art Exhibition, and was awarded one of the eight Artist Prizes at Opening Night. Read more ›

Tuckwell Scholarship

Today the Australian National University has publicly announced Tuckwell Scholarship winners. Fairholme's Head Girl, Ellie Randall is one of 25 Year 12 students across Australia, ten in Queensland to receive a Tuckwell Scholarship.  Read more ›
