Boarder Wellbeing

Girls are strongly encouraged to make full use of all sporting and cultural pursuits, participating in anything from swimming, athletics, kickboxing and dance, to chess, debating, drama and music.

Fairholme College has a wealth of opportunity and facilities that boarders are welcome to enjoy including a heated 25m lap pool, athletics equipment and oval, tennis courts, with coaching available for these sports and many others. Boarders’ morning and afternoon fitness classes run by outside, as well as a variety of other activities are carried out in the College Sport Centre.

The extensive College co-curricular program offers the boarders a wide range of sports and activities to choose from and to enjoy with other girls throughout the week and on the weekend. Living on campus enables them to easily be involved and relieves parents of training and transport demands.

Each weekend the boarding house also offers a wide range of other recreational activities either on campus or in the local Toowoomba area (though sometimes further) for the girls to enjoy. These can include park walks, trampolining, skating, and rock climbing to name a few.

During the week the girls often take a relaxing walk/run together around the planned walking tracks in the streets close to the College or simply join a group of girls and staff who head across the road to enjoy the play facilities and the fresh air at the park across the road. The more the girls are active and involved, the more they enjoy boarding life.
