Fairholme College is thrilled to be a part of the Pacific Feeds Cow Project that acknowledges and celebrates the Year of the Farmer and the integral role Primary producers play in our Society.
The concept for the Cow Project was initiated by Paul Blinco and Debbie Nawrotzky of Pacific Feeds, Toowoomba, who wanted to have 365 decorated cows produced by local school students to highlight that every day there is a reason to thank and appreciate our Farmers.
The idea has literally taken off and there are now well in excess of 1200 decorated cows that are spread far and wide, not only across Queensland, but also have made their way to Parliament House in Canberra. The cows are now being rounded up and herded back to Pacific Seeds for their gathering in October for the biggest Cow Art Gallery you are ever likely to see.
The girls of the Fairholme College Eikon Art Group together with some of our gorgeous Kindy and Year 6 students were thrilled to be able to contribute to this project and have proudly decorated a total of 10 cows. These colourful bovines include outback landscapes, Year of the Farmer inspired images, Cows Create Careers slogans and even one resembles a Cadbury chocolate bar, which the girls all acknowledged would not be possible without our wonderful Farmers!
Our resident artists have thoroughly enjoyed being involved in this Community Project and are looking forward to visiting the exhibition.
