Fairholme College welcomes applications for Academic Scholarships for girls entering Years 6, 7, 8 and 10. These scholarships, for tuition only, are awarded on the basis of results from an annual scholarship examination (undertaken by the Australian Council for Educational Research, ACER).
In addition, the following Music Scholarships are offered to a single student each year:
Occasionally, General Scholarships are offered to students new to the College (entering in Years 6, 7, 8 and 10) with all round ability, and a proven special talent in a particular area such as sport or music.
An Isolated Children’s Parents Association Scholarship (ICPA) is reserved for a single student from rural or remote Australia entering Year 8 as a boarder, and whose parents are members of the ICPA. These scholarships are awarded on the basis of results from the annual ACER scholarship examination, as well as the application of the candidate. See the ICPA Application Form (330KB PDF)
All candidates are invited to submit supporting documentation on the day of the exam. We ask that this restricted to the most recent and highest level of achievement, in a clearly named A4 envelope. These documents will be collected as candidates register their attendance on the day of the examination. All music and ICPA candidates will also be considered for Academic and General Scholarships.
Fairholme College and The Glennie School offer the same scholarship examination through ACER. Should a student wish to be considered for a scholarship at both Fairholme College and The Glennie School then it is necessary to register with both schools. This will incur a fee of $100 per application. Further to this, the student must sit with her preferred school and notify both schools of her intended choice of sitting.
The value and duration of all scholarships is at the discretion of the board and all scholarships are a percentage of tuition only. The school requires that all applicants and their families support the College’s mission and ethos in full.
Please note that Fairholme College does not publish or share scholarship examination results with applicants. The College reserves the right not to offer a scholarship or scholarships at a particular Year level or within a specific category.
When the scholarship is offered to the successful applicant it is a requirement that all of the usual enrolment fees are to be paid in full.
An application for entry to the College is required before the scholarship sitting.
