Enrolment Process
Prospective students and parents are invited to experience Fairholme for themselves before or after submitting an Application Form. Viewing can be arranged by phoning the Enrolments Officer for an appointment time.
Upon receiving a completed Application of Enrolment, together with the student's most recent School Report, and the appropriate application fee, and a copy of the student’s Birth Certificate a placement offer is made by the Principal. This offer may take the form of either:
- A definite place in our Intake Years: Kindergarten, Prep, Years 1, 7, 8 or 10 (Subject to places). OR
- A place on our waiting lists.
Once a placement is accepted, parents are added to the list of future parents and receive regular magazines containing relevant College information.
In the year prior to the student's proposed College entry, parents are invited to confirm the student's place by returning a Confirmation of Enrolment Form together with the enrolment confirmation fee (please see below). This confirms the student's place on our records and all College correspondence and publications are forwarded to assist in the preparation for the student's future studies.
All students together with their families are encouraged to view the College, attend Open House, Scholarship Exams, Orientation Days etc. This assists in the successful transition period into the College. All boarders and their whole families are encouraged to attend a 'live-in' orientation weekend in the College boarding house in the September holidays before commencement. A school orientation program for all new day students from Year 8 upwards and all new boarding students from Year 7 upwards is included on the Saturday morning of this weekend.
Near the end of the year prior to entry, information regarding Subject Selection, Book Lists, Orientation dates and commencement procedure is posted. A final package is forwarded in early January of the entry year. This includes the College Calendar, important dates and other relevant information for commencement at Fairholme College.
Enrolment Confirmation Fee
For applications to enrol a male or female child/student in the College Kindergarten only, a non-refundable Enrolment Confirmation fee of $400 per child/student is payable on confirmation of enrolment before the commencement of the child/student at the College, or at commencement if a place is not offered in advance.
Except for applications to enrol a male or female child/student in the College Kindergarten only, a non-refundable Enrolment Confirmation Fee of $500 per child/student is payable on confirmation of enrolment before the commencement of the child/student at the College, or at commencement if a place if not offered in advance. $100 of the enrolment confirmation fee is for life membership of the Fairholme Old Girls' Association.
