Students seeking tertiary entrance are well counselled and prepared for further study through our intensive "Tertiary Aspirations Programme". This programme begins in Year 10 when students make subject choices for Year 11 and continues through until the end of Year 12 when students make choices about their future study or employment. To facilitate this preparation, in Years 10 to Year 12, all students are involved in timetabled lessons where Life Skills education, Careers Education and tertiary preparation are the core elements.
Vocational Competencies leading towards nationally recognised certificates (ANTA) are embedded in QSA subjects such as Hospitality Studies (Cert I in Hospitality), Business Communication and Technologies (Cert II in Business) and Information Technology Systems (Cert II in Informaton Technology). The provision of alternative vocational courses and Traineeships through TAFE, QDEC and local businesses provide students with valuable skills to enter employment or enrol in the many Business, Technical, Hospitality and Training institutes.
